Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie cancel family holiday?
Their recent categorical denial notwithstanding, reports of discord between Brad Pitt and partner Angelina Jolie continue to appear in the tabloid press. In a story headlined "Brangelina holiday's off as things go from Brad to worse" The Daily Mail reports Sunday (05 Aug 2007) that the most closely followed couple of the world has cancelled a family holiday, further fuelling speculation of a rift.
Brad, according to a friend, called off a planned holiday to Lake Mohawk, New Jersey, because of work commitments (He is working on 13 movies with his production company) and that hasn't gone down well with Jolie.
"Angie is really upset and has demanded that Brad cuts back on his work schedule. There's a lot of tension between them. They were meant to be going away as a family and had spoken about teaching the kids to fish and sail," says a friend
"Angie pinned a sign up in the kitchen that said, 'Success is a beast, it puts the emphasis on the wrong thing. I prefer to look within'" the friend added.
Sources have revealed that the actress was so annoyed that she flew to Marrakesh alone for a wrap-up party for The Bourne Ultimatum.

Beckhams Make Scents in America
Intimately Beckham, the couple's fragrance line which up until now has only been available across the pond, will be available in U.S. department stores next month, followed by drug stores in January, according to Women's Wear Daily.
The his-and-hers scents, designed to complement one another, retail for $25 and $55. Intimately Beckham launched in the U.K. last September.
"Why is this different from any other celebrity fragrance? The fact that I have spent a lot of time checking all the details," Victoria Beckham told WWD. "We are not just saying, 'We are celebrities, put our name on it.' I love to be involved with the whole process."
The British pop star, who will be reclaiming her Posh Spice moniker when she heads out on a reunion tour with Scary, Sporty, Ginger and Baby this December, is also working on a line of sunglasses. She created a high-end line of jeans called VB Rocks for pricey denim purveyor Rock and Republic in 2004.
As for David Beckham, who cares that since inking a $100 million deal with the Los Angeles Galaxy he's only played 16 minutes in a 1-0 exhibition loss to Chelsea? And that an ankle injury continues to keep him on the bench, most recently in a navy-blue suit and red necktie as he watched his new team hustle its way to a 0-0 tie with Toronto FC on Sunday night?
Industry analysts are still estimating that the Beckham fragrance empire, which also includes the midfielder's own scent, Instinct by David Beckham, will generate $100 million in worldwide sales this year, and twice that next year.

Jessica Alba signs on for Mike Myres' 'Love Guru'
Jessica Alba has signed on to star in Paramount Pictures’ new movie ‘Love Guru’. The sexy star will be playing the female lead opposite funnyman Mike Myers, who has also scripted the film along with Graham Gordy.
Also appearing with the two will be Romany Malco, and Verne Troyer, who played Mini-Me in Myres’ three "Austin Powers" films, reports Variety.
In the movie, Myers plays Pitka, an American who was left at the gates of an ashram in India as a child and raised by gurus.
After returning to America, he tries to settle a rift between a hockey player, to be played by Malco, and his wife, who in turn is enamored with the star player of a rival team.
Alba plays the hockey team owner and Troyer the team coach. Pitka's job is to check that romance between Malco and his wife, so that the star player can lead his team to the championship.
The pic, scheduled for a June 20, 2008 release, will be helmed by Marco Schnabel.

Brit and K-Fed headed for custody fight
Federline in court to challenge wild woman Spears for kidsOh babies!
Wacky warbler Britney Spears' off-the-wall antics have launched her into what promises to be a bitter battle with ex-hubby Kevin Federline over their two kids.
K-Fed fired the first salvo in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday with an order to show cause why he shouldn't get full custody of their sons, Sean Preston, 22 months, and Jayden James, 10 months.
The would-be rapper, who has two kids with actress Shar Jackson, is worried Spears is exposing the boys to "unnecessary risk" with her bizarre behavior, sources said.
Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, marched into court yesterday with "documents that appeared to be an inch and a half thick," one source said. "He definitely went to the clerk with them."
A source told People magazine Kaplan "hopes to get Kevin primary custody."
When Spears and Federline's divorce was finalized less than two weeks ago, they agreed to split custody of the children.
With the latest court filing, it's likely Brit's short fuse is lit and burning fast.
When Federline first sought full custody early this year, Spears paid surprise visit to his home. When he wouldn't let her in, she played Barry Bonds with her umbrella and a paparazzo's SUV.
Spears, despite a stint at Promises rehab center after her freaky head-shaving stunt, has been a fixture on the nightclub and party scene.
Federline's request for primary custody comes as reports surfaced of the tarnished pop princess frolicking topless and simulating sex in the at an L.A. hotel pool with an extra from a video she shot.
How ugly can it get?
Well, Star magazine will report this week that a raged-filled Spears accused her own mom of sleeping with K-Fed just to hurt her feelings. Lynne Spears, who got on Brit's bad side by telling her to lay off the partying, is "deeply hurt" by the oddball allegation, the mag said.

Beyonce, JT lead MTV nominations
Justin Timberlake and Beyonce lead the pop parade of nominees for the MTV Video Music Awards with seven nods apiece, it was announced today.

Beyonce's Irreplaceable was nominated for video of the year, as was Timberlake's ambitiously cinematic What Goes Around ... Comes Around, which co-starred Scarlett Johansson.
Also competing in the category are Amy Winehouse's Rehab, Kanye West's Stronger, Rihanna's Umbrella (featuring Jay-Z) and Justice's D.A.N.C.E.
Timberlake was also nominated for male artist of the year and "most earth shattering collaboration" for pairing with Timbaland for Sexy Back. Beyonce was nominated for female artist of the year and for her collaboration with Shakira on "Beautiful Liar."
West landed five nominations, including male artist of the year. He has often appeared prickly about losing awards, and today he was still sore over being snubbed last year for his Evel Knievel spoof video Touch the Sky. (In 2005, he did win best male video for Jesus Walks.)
"I come to win. I don't come to lose," West told MTV today on TRL, where the awards were announced. "I think there's some really strong competition this year."
Rihanna also received five nominations, propelled by her hit single, Umbrella, which is up for "monster single of the year".
Also nominated for male artist of the year was Akon, T.I. and Robin Thicke. Rounding out the nominees for female artist of the year were Fergie and Nelly Furtado.
Amy Winehouse, whose album Back to Black was her second disc but her first released in the US, was nominated for best new artist. She received three nods, including female artist of the year. In the best new artist category, Winehouse will compete with her compatriot Lily Allen, as well as Carrie Underwood, Gym Class Heroes and Peter Bjorn & John.
Up for best group are Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, Linkin Park, Maroon 5 and the White Stripes.
The 24th annual VMAs will be handed out during a live two hour show on September 9 in Las Vegas at the Palms Hotel and Casino. Only eight categories will be awarded on the broadcast.
Performers will include Kanye West, Fall Out Boy, Amy Winehouse, Chris Brown, the Foo Fighters and Rihanna.
Timbaland will be the maestro of the award show, serving essentially as the evening's DJ. Last year, the Raconteurs played a similar role.
"By me being maestro," said Timbaland, "I am the show".

J.Lo wins $640,000 from ex-husband
Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez has won roughly US$545,000 (A$638,000) in the arbitration of a lawsuit against her first husband over his plans to publish a tell-all book about the star, court documents showed on Wednesday.

As part of the arbitrator's decision, Lopez also won a permanent injunction barring her ex-spouse, Ojani Noa, from disclosing intimate information about their relationship for personal gain.
Among the revelations purportedly made in the ghost-written book, according to media accounts, was that Lopez had multiple affairs during her brief marriage to Noa, including one with salsa-singer Marc Anthony, Lopez's third and current husband, while he also was married to someone else.
The arbitration of their latest dispute makes permanent an injunction Lopez obtained against the book's publication in June 2006.
"I just hope he respects the order of the court," said Paul Sorrell, attorney for Lopez. "If he doesn't, it won't be over."
Sorrell filed papers in a Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday asking a judge to affirm the arbitration.
Lopez was awarded $200,000 (A$232,000) in damages for breach of contract, $300,000 (A$348,000) in attorneys' fees and nearly $48,000 (A$55,000) in arbitration costs.
Noa's plans for a book were revealed in a January 2006 article in the New York Post describing the proposed expose as a 12-chapter "tell-all manuscript" under the title: The Unknown Truth: A Passionate Portrait of a Serial Thriller.
Noa, a restaurant and nightclub manager, offered not to publish the book if Lopez paid him $5 million (A$5.8 million), according to Lopez's suit.
Lopez divorced Noa in 1998 after 11 months of marriage. She married her second husband,
Lopez and Anthony star together in El Cantante, a movie about salsa legend Hector Lavoe that opened in US cities this summer.
