Kate Middleton turned 26 on Wednesday, January 9, amidst heightened speculation that she and Prince William are getting engaged, prompted by the assignment of a Scotland Yard security detail for her protection.

It is rare to see Prince William's girlfriend wear colors other than black and white. She seems to have made an exception this time leaving us wondering if speculation about her forthcoming engagement is on the mark.

Kate looked her usual charming self wearing a red and black mini plaid skirt with sheer black stockings, knee high black boots and a black blazer over a black turtle neck sweater.

She walked tall and graceful carrying a brown leather handbag.

Going back a year, this is what the then assistant accessories buyer wore on her 25th birthday.

Going back two years, this is how she was attired on her 24th birthday holidaying on a boat in Ibiza along with Prince William.

Katherine Heigl and Jennifer Love Hewitt at premiere of '27 Dresses'

Jennifer Love Hewitt and Katherine Heigl made sartorial statements of different kinds at the Los Angeles Premiere of "27 Dresses" at Mann's Village Theater, Westwood, CA. Monday, January 7.

Hewitt, 28, turned the tables on shutterbugs by forcing them to focus on parts of her anatomy that they just cannot fault. Katherine, 29, glowed and charmed in a dress that charmed and embarrassed at the same time.

In the film 27 Dresses, Katherine plays a young woman who is a serial bridesmaid, having done the honors 27 times! Her biggest challenge comes when she has to be the bridesmaid for her sister marrying the man Katherine loves.

Designer Letdown?
Heigl wore a Bill Blass grey bateau neckline sleeveless dress with silver accents. She either gained weight after she got the dress or her designer did not do a good job, because the fit around the armholes was unsightly.

She matched the dress with lovely grey pearl necklace, diamond earrings and Jimmy Choo's striking Owen patent leather peep toe pumps with Mondrian heel.

Her hair, puffed on the top and tied in a loose chignon at the back, charmed.
She happily posed for photos with husband and singer Josh Kelley. The couple was married on December 23, 2007 in Park City, Utah.

Picture Purrfect!
Hewitt looked delectable in a silk georgette peach dress with a plunging neckline, banded empire waist, rouched bodice and handkerchief hemline.

Sans jewelry, she wore glittering silver ankle strap heeled sandals.

Hewitt, who has been dating Scottish actor Ross McCall since January 2006, got engaged to him while vacationing in Hawaii in November 2007.

Shortly afterwards photos showing unflattering curves on her body were splashed across the internet, lensed by photogs while she was on a beach in Hawaii.

Hewitt's response was bitter.

"I've sat by in silence for a long time now about the way women's bodies are constantly scrutinized.... What I should be doing is celebrating some of the best days of my life and my engagement to the man of my dreams, instead of having to deal with photographers taking invasive pictures from bad angles," she said.

We think she did more to promote her cause Monday than the bitter statement above.

Britney's paparazzo lover is 'mad and sex-mad' says his wife

Britney's paparazzo lover Adnan Ghalib's wife Nichole Grimes says Adnan is "mad and sex-mad".

Grimes "fell-head-over-heels" for Birmingham photographer Adnan Ghalib - who is now dating the 'Gimme More' singer - only to discover he was cheating on her with her best-friend.

Nichole, 35, said: "Britney should watch out - he's wild. To say he was a ladies' man was an understatement. He couldn't get enough. He's mad and sex-mad.

"When we met I thought he was this lovely young Asian boy from a strict family. I was head-over-heels in love. Then I discovered he'd been secretly hitting on my friend behind my back.

"Some people may wonder what this guy from a strict Muslim family is doing with a party animal like Britney. But I reckon he's wilder than her."

Nichole - who met Adnan, 35, when they both attended Birmingham's Sheldon Heath Community School - also believes it has been Adnan's "life-long dream" to date a superstar.

Nichole added to the Daily Star newspaper: "He was a real charmer. He knew what he wanted and he knew how to get it.

"He's such an attention-seeker that to date one of the world's most famous women must have been his life-long dream."

Meanwhile, Britney, 26, and Adnan boarded a private jet to New York together yesterday afternoon (09 Jan 2008).

They left Van Nuys Airport at 4pm on a flight bound for New Jersey's Teterboro Airport.

The singer has lost her visitation rights to sons Sean Preston, two, and 15-month-old Jayden James, after she was hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation last week following a police stand-off at her home.

Britney ready to die for her toddlers, but can't live for them?

Britney Spears is featured on the cover of OK! magazine's latest issue along with her toddlers. The family photo, the first to be published, looks heartwarming but surreal considering what has transpired since it was lensed.

With every step forward that she takes, troubled pop star Britney Spears seems to take two backwards, be it her personal or professional life.

OK! probably paid a very handsome amount for the exclusive photos to boost its circulation and Britney probably posed for them to bolster her case to regain 50/50 custody of her children.

Both are unlikely to get what they seek.

It is ironical that since the photos were taken Britney has done nothing to improve her chances to regain custody but done enough to temporarily loose it.

The chain of events, following her stand off with the police Thursday, January 3, night, make the photos appear almost fake.

It is difficult to reconcile what happened Thursday night with what the photographer, Dani Brubaker, is quoted telling the magazine in its cover story.

"She was very loving," Brubaker says about the photoshoot. "She told me she loved her children and that they are her life."

Interestingly, Brubarker also says, "I'm told that when she saw the photographs she literally cried for over an hour and stared at them all night long."

If true, it is certainly not the reaction of a normal parent.

The cover story also quotes a friend of the singer as saying, "Those boys are her everything, and she's said repeatedly that life isn't worth living if she can't have her babies with her."

The truth is Britney does not have to die for her babies she has to live for them, abiding by the law of the land and caring for them as millions of other parents do.

Victoria Beckham tops Mr Blackwell's 'Worst Dressed in 2007' list

Victoria Beckham may be considered a style icon by some, but her fashion sense was certainly not right for Mr Blackwell, for she topped his 'Worst Dressed' list.

Mr Blackwell, who has been publishing his list of the best and worst dressed for the past 48 years, said that Posh manages to 'wreck' every outfit she wears.

"Forget the fashion spice - wearing a skirt would suffice! In one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty posh can really wreck-em," Usmagazine.com quoted him, as stating.

Coming in at second spot on the list was another Brit, singer Amy Winehouse who he states is a 'part 50's car-hop horror' with her 'Exploding beehives above…tacky polka-dots below'.

Third spot on the list went to Mary Kate Olsen of whom Mr Blackwell stated: "YIKES! In layers of cut-rate kitsch, Mary Kate's look is hard to explain... she resembles a tattered toothpick-trapped in a hurricane!"

The top five was rounded of by Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie and Kelly Clarkson, who came in fourth and fifth place respectively.

Reese Witherspoon tops Mr Blackwell's 'Best Dressed in 2007' list

Reese Witherspoon's fashion sense hit the right chord with style maven Mr Blackwell, for she topped his 'Best Dressed' list.

Mr Blackwell has been publishing his list of the best and worst dressed for the past 48 years.
Coming in at second spot on the list was British socialite Jemima Khan, followed by American singer Beyonce in the third spot, reports news.com.au.

The top five was rounded of by two Oscar winners - the sexy Angelina Jolie, and Dame Helen Mirren, who came in fourth and fifth place respectively.

However, Spice girl Victoria Beckham didn't do so well in his eyes, topping his annual 'Worst Dressed' list.

Britney Spears remains a troubled soul at large

More reports of Britney Spears' bizarre behavior are coming in. She was heard speaking in a British accent during her short stay at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Her car has been impounded after she abandoned it blocking the roadway on Sunset Blvd.

Britney abandoned her car on Sunset Boulevard during rush hour Thursday night, January 7.

The troubled pop star, who got a flat tire while she was driving along the busy Los Angeles street, continued to drive for two miles without her lights on and even passed a petrol station before she pulled over and deserted the vehicle.

Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Mike Lopez said: "Britney Spears' car was impounded because it was blocking the roadway."

Britney now faces a $104 towing fee, plus $32 for every day it remains in the towing yard.
If the 'Toxic' star doesn't collect the vehicle within 30 days, it will be put up for auction.

The incident has sparked further fears for the singer's mental health.

The 'Gimme More' singer was taken to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center following a three-hour stand-off with police which began at 8pm on Thursday, January 3, after she refused to return her sons, two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James, to ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Meanwhile, Britney has revealed a video of her wearing just a jumper, smoking a cigarette and sharing a lollipop with her paparazzo boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.

Another piece of footage, filmed at the weekend, shows the pair holding hands and kissing on a sofa.

The alleged couple went out for a romantic walk in Los Angeles yesterday (07 January 2008) and happily posed for photographers who Adnan is believed to have tipped off.

At one point, Britney suggestively fed him ice cream to the delight of the throng of paparazzi.

The 'Piece of Me' star is said to be planning to film a tell-all confession about what happened last Thursday, which she and Adnan will sell to the highest bidder.

The Beckhams buy 8-year-old Brooklyn hi-tech iPhone

Football ace David Beckham and his “Spice Girl” wife Victoria gifted their eldest son, Brooklyn, a hi-tech iPhone this Christmas.

The eight-year-old boy had requested his parents to buy him the mobile last year, after hype in the US reached fever pitch.

The 269-pound device will enable Brooklyn to surf the net, ring his pals, and listen to his mother’s albums.

“David and Victoria are aware that Brooklyn is very young to have a mobile. But they thought it would be a good idea so he could call them whenever he needed - especially with David and Victoria globe-trotting so much,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“Brooklyn is really switched on with computers and gadgets. He set his heart on the iPhone when he saw it on TV in America. He loves computer games and is always on his PSP handheld console,” the source added.

The Beckhams, according to reports, decided in favor of giving Brooklyn the iPhone with a view to staying in touch with him during their hectic schedules.

However, child experts believe that David and Victoria’s gift may spoil their child.

“An eight-year-old can have no possible use for an iPhone - it’s irrelevant to his life,” said child expert Dreena Hamilton, of Channel 4 show Bringing Up Baby.

Paris and Nicky Hilton host New Year's Eve 2008 Party at LAX Nightclub

The Hilton sisters hosted the New Year's Eve 2008 Party at LAX Nightclub, Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Amongst those who attended were Pamela Anderson, Kevin Federline and Larry Birkhead.
Paris was dressed in a sparkling multi colored mini dress that had 'I Love Paris' written boldly on it. She matched it with golden and red high heels from Christian Louboutin.

Nicky was more sedately turned out in a jeweled neckline white dress with sequined pumps.
Pamela Anderson wore a black tiered strand mini dress harking back to her Baywatch days. She seems to forget that those days are long gone.

After having partied with Britney's ex Kevin Federline for two consecutive nights, lady at large Paris Hilton cozied up to Larry Birkhead at the event.

Daddy Brad Pitt 'Makes it Right' for Pax

Four year old Pax Thien enjoyed a sunny winter morning out with celebrity dad Brad Pitt who took him on a tour of the 'Make It Right' project in New Orleans.

Under the project, for which Pitt has donated $5 million, 150 affordable and environmentally friendly homes are being built for Hurricane Katrina victims.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have made New Orleans their home to help rebuild the city devastated by hurricane Katrina in 2005.

The couple and their four children Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 2 and Shiloh, 20 months, have been camping in the Big Easy since before the start of the holidays.

Elle Macpherson dumps Bryan Adams over Bond girl

Supermodel Elle Macpherson is said to have split from her boyfriend Bryan Adams after she spotted him with Bond girl Caterina Murino.

The Australian beauty had spotted Adams and Murino in a photograph while they were out on a date.

Bryan, who is 48-years-old, and Murino, who is 30, were photographed walking arm-in-arm at a party in Paris, France.

Elle is said to have been very angry with the whole incident.

"Bryan tried to play down everything, but confirmed his night out. Elle hit the roof and dumped him," an insider told the British newspaper News Of The World.

Another Lindsay Lohan's lover tells all

Italian rock drummer Alessandro Di Nunzio, one of the three men she was seen kissing on a singe day last weekend in Capri, has revealed titillating details about his wild night of sex with American actress Lindsay Lohan.

Nunzio recalled how Lindsay had thrown herself at him in a bar at the Capri Film Festival, inviting him to dinner and then demanding that he kiss her.

Alessandro, who at first had no idea that he was talking to the infamous Lohan, said that the actress had led him to her room less than six hours after they met.

When they got to her room, Lohan stripped off all her clothes and treated him to a night of wild and hot sex.

"Lindsay was very, very good and surprisingly experienced. She wanted to do everything, every position. She was extremely flexible and adventurous," Alessandro told the News Of The World.

Nunzio, was completely taken by Lohan’s beauty and love, but was a little sad though when he found out that he was just another one in her long line of conquests.

Jennifer Aniston is reportedly desperate to have a baby and wants a friend to donate sperm.

The 38-year-old actress, who is said to be dating Sex and the City hunk Jason Lewis, has reportedly told best pal Courteney Cox that she wants one of her male friends to help her conceive a child.

A source close to the actress said: "With her biological clock now ticking urgently, Jen's weighing up the relative qualities of all her make friends to soon make the decision which of them is her best bet as a sperm donor.

"Looks, intelligence and personality are all in the equation because she wants beautiful, bright children to make her life complete. Once she's reached a decision, she'll pop the question to a surprised bachelor, explaining she doesn't want marriage - just babies!"

Potential candidates allegedly include current lover Lewis and ex-boyfriends British model Paul Sculfor and Vince Vaughn.

The source added: "While Jen may have soured on marriage after her divorce from Brad Pitt, she's still desperate to start a family. She has a beautiful mansion complete with nursery all fitted out, millions in the bank and a select band of eligible guys, one of whom she'll soon pick to be a daddy."

Aniston more liked than Jolie, Witherspoon most: survey

Jennifer Aniston with an appeal rating of 70% was ranked No 2, ahead of Angelina Jolie with a rating of 53% at No. 3, in a list of ten most liked women celebrities compiled by E-Poll Market Research. Reese Witherspoon topped the list with 74%.

Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon, 30, is blonde, bubbly, and pretty much never makes a fashion faux pas. She is the quintessential American sweetheart.

Believed to be the highest paid Hollywood actress but ironically hasn't had a resounding success since she played June Carter in the 2005 biopic Walk the Line, a chronicle of country music legend Johnny Cash's life.

Her last film, Rendition (2007), collected a dismal $9.66M from US Box Offices.

Ironically, she has lately been in the news more because of the breakdown of her marriage with Ryan Phillippe and subsequent link up with Rendition co-star Jake Gyllenhaal than because of her films.

Trailing Jolie were Actress/singer Jennifer Lopez with 52%, Katie Holmes with 32% and Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham with 28%.

Troubled pop star Britney Spears with 11% and celebrity at large Paris Hilton with 9% were at the bottom of the list which additionally included Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan.

Hilton and Britney were also deemed to be the most overexposed celebrities.

The list was compiled from a survey of 1,100 people ages 13 and older.

Britney Spears being taken to hospital: update

While being driven to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Britney Spears was secured to the gurney on which she was being transported by tie-downs to stop her from struggling.

Spears is currently on a 72 hours lockdown for mental evaluation at the hospital.
Details are now emerging as to what transpired at her house Thursday night, December 3.

The court appointed monitor summoned the police when Britney refused to hand over Jayden.

"She [The Monitor] had already put Preston in the car when Britney locked herself in a room with Jayden," a source told People. "The cops came and got through the door and tied her down to a gurney."

Jayden was taken to the hospital by the monitor in a separate ambulance.

Both the toddlers are now at Federline's house.

Federline lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan is due in court at 8:30 am. He is expected to request the judge to divest Britney of her visitation rights.

According to Life & Style, Britney Spears blood tests at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center have come back negative suggesting that she was not under the influence.

“Her blood test just came back, and, thank God, it was clean. There are no traces of drugs or alcohol of any kind,” a source close to the Spears family told the magazine.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes struggling to conceive again?

The couple - who have a 20-month-old biological daughter Suri along with Tom's adopted children, Connor, 12, and 14-year-old Isabella, with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman - are trying for a baby with no success and now allegedly plan to seek medical advice.

A source said: "Katie is so upset. They both really want another child but it just doesn't seem to be happening. She says they have been trying since last summer. Tom and Katie have decided to go and see a specialist."

Tom, 45, is reportedly desperate for another son so the couple are planning to visit Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center later this month for a consultation, according to Britain's Now magazine.

Last year, 29-year-old Katie revealed she couldn't wait to fall pregnant again.

The Batman Begins actress said: "Yes I definitely want more children. We're having the best time, it's so amazing. Reese Witherspoon refusing to film sex scene with Vince Vaughn

The pair have reportedly been clashing constantly on the set of romantic comedy 'Four Christmases' and now Reese is refusing to roll around naked with Vince.

An on-set source told the New York Post newspaper: "Reese has an issue with the scripted love scene. It is meant to be a funny, 'American Pie'-style romp, full of bumps and laughs, but Reese is such a prude, she thinks it's just too much."

Despite being an Oscar winner and a more highly-paid Hollywood star, Reese is unlikely to win the argument as Vince is one of the film's producers.

The 37-year-old actor also oversaw much of the script writing, about a couple whose divorced parents do not get on, so they decide to celebrate Christmas separately with each of them.

It has previously been reported Reese, 31, has been unhappy with Vince's behavior on set.

While she is keen to work hard and film on schedule, he allegedly turns up to work hung-over, forgets his lines and is constantly fooling about on set.

Angelina Jolie's children banned from waking her up in the morning

Brad Pitt gets up early every morning with their four kids - adopted children Maddox, six, Pax, four, Zahara, two, and 20-month-old biological daughter Shiloh - and gives them breakfast while Angelina has a lie-in.

An insider told Life and Style Weekly magazine: "Sometimes the kids will go in and wake her, but they're not supposed to. Sometimes she'll get up earlier to take the kids to school, but Brad's usually the one who gets them out the door."

Brad, 44, has been hailed as a "super-dad" doing all the hands on work while Angelina, 32, has been busy filming new movies Wanted and The Changeling on location.

The source added: "Brad gets up really early with the children. He changes diapers and gets Zahara and Shiloh fed and dressed for the day. He takes this responsibility very seriously.

"While Angie was busy filming Brad was superdad. He got into the routine of getting up with all the kids, getting the Corn Flakes for breakfast and getting them prepped for school. When Brad dresses the kids, he lets them pick whatever they want to wear, even if it's weird or mismatched."

Brad has regularly spoken of his happiness at becoming a father and spending time with his children.

The Ocean's Thirteen star said last year: "We all sing and dance to 'Wheels on the Bus' together. We hope they're not soaking up our moves because they'd be seriously lacking in their future.

We'll get them some proper training. But yeah, there's a lot of dancing around the house, a lot of music time."

Britney in hospital along with son Jayden-James

After she handed over custody of her two toddlers to ex Kevin Federline following an intervention by LAPD, troubled pop star Britney Spears was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medial Center in an ambulance.

An LAPD officer told ETOnline that she was "being taken into custody for being under the influence of an unknown substance for evaluation."

Her younger son, Jayden-James, 15 months, was also taken to the hospital in a separate ambulance, although it is not clear if he needed medical treatment.

When Britney arrived at the medical centre, she stuck two fingers up at waiting paparazzi but smiled as she was wheeled out of the ambulance.

One onlooker said: "Britney looked completely out of it, but still managed to flip off the photographers and smiled at the same time. She is just unbelievable."

Sean was driven to Cedars-Sinai behind the two ambulances.

Kevin arrived at the hospital at 12.20am this morning (04.01.08) to see his ex-wife.

Britney's father Jamie entered the hospital at 1.15am, despite the pair not having been seen together since spring last year.

Bride to be Katharine McPhee sings at FedEx Orange Bowl

Katharine McPhee gave her own special rendition of the National Anthem to help kick off the 2008 FedEx Orange Bowl football game between Kansas University and Virginia Tech, at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Florida., Thursday, January 3.

Katharine wore a stylish dark blue gathered cuff sleeves, empire waist jersey top with a tie neck and light blue jeans. She looked enchanting with long shining curled hair, subtle makeup and ethnic yellow gold chandelier earrings.

Star magazine reports that the 23-year-old American Idol Season 5 runner up and fiancé, actor Nick Cokas, 42 have settled on a marriage date.

"They're getting married in Los Angeles in February," the insider tells Star. "They've sent out pre-invites asking their friends to 'save the date,' and the actual invitations with all the information will be coming soon."

McPhee and Cokas became acquainted while working together in 2005 on a theater production in L.A. McPhee was persuaded to give American Idol a shot by Cokas and her parents.

She was voted No 2 on FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in The World 2007, People magazine declared her one of the "100 Most Beautiful People of 2007" and she was listed amidst Maxim's "Hot 100 Women of 2007" list. It is easy to see why.

She will make her studio acting debut as a pregnant hippie in a comedy titled I Know What Boys Like directed by Fred Wolf.

The film stars Anna Faris and additionally features Rumer Willis, Emma Stone and Colin Hanks.
