Katie Holmes walked the green carpet with Tom Cruise by her side for the premier of her comeback film "Mad Money" at Mann Village Theater, Westwood, California on Wednesday, January 9, looking angelic.

Written by Thelma & Louise screenwriter Glenn Gers, the comic crime thriller tells the tale of three female employees of the Federal Reserve who plot to steal money that is about to be destroyed and is based on the British film Hot Money.

Katie co-stars with Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton in the $22 million film which was shot in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Katie has walked the red carpet by the side of her husband Tom Cruise many times since their marriage on November 18, 2006. Yesterday it was Tom's turn to walk by her side as she strode in looking exquisite in a Giorgio Armani strapless silver beaded bubble hem mini dress.

Tom Cruise, dressed in a blue velvet suit, looked very supportive of his wife and happy for her.

Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton attended the star studded premiere of their film.
The film opens in theaters on January 18, 2008.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at the 13th Annual Critics' Choice Awards

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie walked the red carpet at the 13th Annual Critics' Choice Awards Monday, January 7, at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium.

Jolie was a nominee in the Best Actress category for her portrayal of Mariane Pearl in A Mighty Heart.
Brad's new makeover, a goatee beard and long sideburns, was intriguing. He wore a three piece gray suite and a knit scarf.

Jolie looked her usual stunning and serene self wearing a black notch collar trench coat with metal buckles on tabbed sleeves and black Christian Louboutin peep toe stiletto pumps. Her hair, set into ringlets, complemented her subdued makeup and brought fullness to her face.
The awards, given out by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, were not covered by Writers Guild contracts.

Other stars that showed up included George Clooney and Katie Holmes.

Jessica Alba always had the looks, now she also has a hormonal glow, even a smile for the photogs, to go with her good looks. The mom to be was cheerily dressed at a Luncheon in Century City for V-Day, a program for battered women, Thursday, January 10.

The 27-year-old wore a pink abstract print surplice dress with a tied empire waist falling to a full skirt.

Her baby pink full sleeve cardigan with satin edging, drop pearl and diamond earrings and light makeup complimented her glowing skin.

Her hair tied in a chignon with the bangs covering her forehead added to the softness of her face.
We also liked her choice of matching light pink peep toe pumps with a bow at the back.

V-Day celebrated its 10th anniversary Thursday at a star-studded private luncheon sponsored by Glamour magazine.

Other celebrities at the event included Katie Holmes, Val Kilmer, Kerry Washington, Ali Larter, Gina Gershon, Rosario Dawson Judith, Light and Jennifer Beals.

V-Day brings the issue of violence against women and girls front and center in the culture and the community. Its mission is to end the violence against women and girls locally, nationally and internationally.

Nothing new, just another crazy night out for Britney Spears

Like the pied piper Britney led the paparazzi horde tailing her car Wednesday night, January 16, all the way to the San Fernando Valley for…some shopping! Accompanying Britney on the night out was her manager Sam Lutfi and not picked-off-the-street beau Adnan Ghalib.

According to the photo agency WENN, trouble began when Britney hit speeds of 100 mph in order to escape the photogs drawing the attention of the cops who swooped in on the cavalcade.

Several photogs were cited and some reportedly handcuffed and arrested. However, the cops decided to let Britney go. What is the point, they may have wondered. The lady is incorrigible!

Anyway, Britney drove on to Rite Aid in Studio City only to realize that it was closed. Oops!

So what if she did not get her medication. She could always buy groceries.

The custody challenged mama then walked over to Ralphs for some middle of the night grocery shopping.

Intrigued by the absence of Adnan Ghalib, a videographer quizzed Britney if she was mad at Adnan.

"No comment," said the fallen queen of pop.

The response must have encouraged the pesky videographer to probe her some more so he asked her if Adnan was treating her well.

Britney just shrugged her shoulders.

The next stop was at Kitson Women and Men for some clothes. The way Britney was dressed – a barely below the hip dress, torn fishnets and no under wear she did look in need of clothes.

Well, even after she bought them, she looked as trashy as before.

Britney beau Adnan's humble background and journey from Birmingham to LA

Adnan Ghalib, who is originally from Afghanistan, emigrated to the UK with his family as refugees in 1977, arriving first in London and then settling down in Birmingham where he grew up from a young boy to a bespectacled nerdy looking teenager with neatly trimmed facial foliage.

He lived in a predominantly Muslim neighborhood, about five miles out from the center of Birmingham, in a humble terraced house, reports Daily Mail.

He was schooled first at Marlborough Infant School in Small Heath and then attended the nearby Sheldon Heath Comprehensive.

As a teenager, Adnan was no different from other South Asian Muslim immigrants boys. He enjoyed Cricket, Football Bhangra music and hanging out with his friends.

He moved to South London in his late teens and spent few years there. Later he relocated to the US to live with his sister Farah who had settled in California with her husband.

Adnan managed a strip bar before becoming a full time paparazzo. He married Azlynn Berry.

Not much is known about his relationship with her except that they separated about a year ago.

There has been speculation that theirs was a marriage of convenience to facilitate Adnan's Green Card processing.

Adnan's childhood friends say he was not into chasing girls but was always good with words and liked a laugh.

"One thing about him, was that he always had this ability to put a smile on your face", a friend told Daily Mail.

It was perhaps Adnan's ability to put a smile on her face that enamored Britney who is now believed to have hired him as a personal assistant and pays him a salary of several thousand dollars a week.

Besides driving and squiring her around Adnan, who is now 35-year-old, also runs errands for her and cleans her house.

Spears recently bought him a Mercedes SUV to drive her around.

Britney Spears to sue photographer for selling personal pictures

American pop singer Britney Spears is planning to sue photographer Dani Brubaker for selling personal pictures of her with her two sons.

Dani had been hired to take a number of portraits of Spears with 2-year-old son Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James in November 07. The photographer, in turn, sold the pictures for 1 million dollars (GBP 500,000).

The pictures came out in last week’s U.S. edition of OK! magazine, without Spears’ permission.

A confidentiality agreement was not signed between Brubaker and Britney and the former holds the copyright to the photos. According to what a source told PageSix.com, she breached an agreement with Spears not to make the pictures public.

The photographer, who had refused offers of up to 500,000 dollars (GBP 250,000) for the pictures in December 07, saying that her "integrity wasn't for sale", went on to hire a manager to strike a deal with OK! magazine.

Rumor has it that Spears will be hiring top lawyer Howard Weitzman to sue Brubaker.

"All legal options are being explored at this time. Brubaker must be dealt with, and Britney will absolutely proceed, in the very least, to sue her," a source said.

Brubaker reportedly plans to donate the money she made from the sale of the candid photos to a children's charity.

Later during the day Katie and Queen Latifah appeared on the set of BET's 106 & Park on Wednesday.

Eddie Murphy's 'marriage' falls apart after just two weeks

Funnyman Eddie Murphy and partner Tracey Edmonds have scrapped plans for a legal wedding, two weeks after tying the knot in a symbolic ceremony in French Polynesia.

The couple exchanged vows in a sunset ceremony on New Year's Day on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia. But, according to a source, the honeymoon got off to a rocky start.

"Eddie started yelling at Tracey in front of people. He did it on a few occasions and it was very embarrassing,” The Sun quoted the source, as saying.

Since the couple's nuptials took place in a foreign country, the wedding was purely ceremonial and not legal.

Murphy and Edmonds originally said that they planned to have a legal ceremony in the United States, but that is now off.

Murphy and Edmonds told People in an exclusive statement that: "After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further.”

"While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends,” they added.

John Mayer stands up for Texas gal Jessica Simpson

Crooner John Mayer, who sporadically dated Jessica Simpson for a year before finally splitting in June 2006, defended his former lady love in a post on his blog against accusation that she had adversely affected the on field performance of NFL-star and her current boyfriend Tony Romo.

Tony had first come under flak when he played poorly on December 16 at Texas Stadium against the Philadelphia Eagles, while Jessica cheered for him along with her father and manager Joe Simpson.

More recently his team's playoff loss on Sunday to the New York Giants was linked to his vacation with Jessica and her family in Cabo, Mexico.

"I don't really follow sports, but I have played some of my biggest and best concerts in your state and having witnessed how dynamic the spirit there is, I'm betting emotions are running high right about now," Mayer writes in his blog post.

"All witty barbs, blogs, and fashion policing aside, that girl loves Texas more than you know," he continues.

"It's one of her most defining traits as a person. So please don't try and take that away from her. (You probably wouldn't be able to, but it's less work for all involved.)"

Explaining what prompted his Blog entry:

"I just thought it would mean something coming from the guy who has the absolute least to gain from this," Mayer is quoted by People magazine as saying.

"And if I'm out of line in having written it, too bad. I can spare a Wednesday's worth of bad press if it means sticking up for a good soul."

Paris Hilton enjoys new raunchy photoshoot

Paris Hilton certainly didn’t seem to mind posing for a raunchy new photoshoot, for she not only got paid, she also got to lock lips with a sexy male model.

The saucy photoshoot for sports label Fila was shot in Los Angeles and required the 26-year-old heiress to snog the model.

The shoot was set aboard a luxury yacht in the Marina Del Rey area and Paris went through eight outfit changes, including one microscopic bikini.

All through the shoot, the socialite was heard listening and singing along to Britney Spears’ Greatest Hits CD.

“She was singing along to all of Britney’s songs like Toxic and ‘Oops I Did It Again. She knew all the words. She even shouted out ‘I love Britney’ at one point to the photographer. She looked incredible and was really enjoying herself. The model was hot too - a spitting image of Ashton Kutcher,” The Sun quoted an onlooker, as saying.

The multi Millionairess has a reputation of dating models and was recently romantically linked to Swede Alex Vaggo and was engaged to fashion model Jason Shaw from mid-2002 to early 2003.

Britney's manager trying to get Adnan out of her life?

Britney Spears manager and former hangar on Sam Lutfi is getting creative with his attempts to get Adnan Ghalib out of the troubled pop star's life.

After she ducked her custody hearing Monday, January 15, Britney went to the Little Brown Church to seek some divine insight into her self created problems.

Accompanying Britney to the church were picked-of-the-street boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, Sam Lutfi and longtime Lutfi friend Chad Hardcastle.

Chad hails from Miami, Florida and comes from a family of Ministers. According to Pagesix.com, Britney went to the church at the behest of Chad who suggested to her that she say a prayer following an attack of nerves at the courthouse.

Chad has been seen with Britney earlier along with Sam. He has the looks and Britney has the weakness. Sources claim that Sam is using Chad as bait to lure Britney out of Adnan's spell.

One good reason why Britney would be better off with Chad than she is with Adnan is because Chad has money, a lot more than Britney has

Zac Efron has his appendix removed

High school musical star Zac Efron underwent an emergency appendix surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.

Efron’s rep confirmed the surgery and said that the actor was recovering.

"He had his appendix removed and is recuperating," E! News quoted the rep as saying.

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old star has been signed in to act in sequel HSM3.

According to the People, Efron is currently shooting for the feature Seventeen co-starring actor Matthew Perry.

Britney's suicide note and naked shopping

Reports of Britney’s recent bizarre behavior now include a suicide note written before her January 3 meltdown and stepping out of a changing room in a upscale clothing store stark.

Whatever is happening in Britney's life, the presence of boyfriend Adnan Ghalib in it is of no help.

Alli Sims, Britney's cousin and good friend who has stood besides her through a lot of her travails, sounded a warning note on Adnan while speaking with Us weekly.

"I don't know him. I only know who he is through him following us for the last eight months. I do not think Adnan is a good person; I think he only has bad intentions. He has always given me a weird feeling and creeped me out. I wish he would just go away."

Not all that is being reported about Britney is true. For example, the In-Touch story that Britney left a suicide note has been trashed by Britney's manager Sam Lutfi, reports x17online.

The original In Touch story claimed that Britney's "very sad" note was "filled with reasons why she shouldn't live, including lines from poems about death" was found by Sam.

As to Britney walking around naked this is what has been reported.

While shopping at the Betsey Johnson store at the Westfield Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks, Calif.on Sunday, January 13, Britney came out of the changing room stark naked, a sales clerk at the store told Life & Style magazine.

As she walked into the upscale clothing store, Britney grabbed a couple of dresses and went into the changing room with Adnan. A little later she stepped out completely naked to the utter astonishment of every one present.

When the sales clerk tried to cover her up she went ballistic 'Get away from me! Don't you f------ come near me!'

"Then she disappeared in the dressing room with Adnan for 45 minutes. They were making weird noises. It was disgusting," the sales clerk adds.

After the two emerged Britney was mumbling something unintelligible.

"I couldn't understand a word she was saying. She was slurring and spitting, and talking with a British accent," says the employee. "Her face was covered with cold sores and acne, and her scalp was patchy. I wanted to help her, but she was so mean that I left her alone.

"Then she muttered, 'F--- you!' and left the store."

Tom Cruise feels 'privileged' to call himself a Scientologist

Hollywood hunk Tom Cruise is not shy about his commitment to Scientology, and a video that surfaced online recently is a proof of it.

The clip, hosted on YouTube and Google Video, features a 9-minute speech by the Vanilla Sky actor as he accepts the ‘Freedom Medal of Valor’ award at an International Association of Scientologists event.

“I think it’s a privilege to call yourself a Scientologist, and it’s something that you have to earn because a Scientologist does... has the ability to create new and better realities and improve conditions. Being a Scientologist, you look at someone and know absolutely that you can help them,” Us magazine quoted him, as saying.

"Being a Scientologist, when you drive past an accident... you know you have to do something about it because you know you’re the only one that can really help.

"But that’s what drives me... I know that we have an opportunity to really help... effectively change people’s lives and I am dedicated to that. I am absolutely, uncompromisingly dedicated to that.

"We have a responsibility. We are the authorities on getting people off drugs, we are the authorities on the mind, we are the authorities on improving conditions... we can rehabilitate criminals.... We can bring peace and unite cultures..

"Traveling the world and meeting the people that I’ve met, talking with these leaders in various fields, they want help and they are depending on people who know and who can be effective and do it and that’s us. That is our responsibility to do that.

Paris Hilton named as Harvard University's 'Woman of the Year'

Socialite Paris Hilton is off to Harvard University, and no, it is not for studies, but because she is being named as the University's Woman of the Year.

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, the Simple Life star will be stopping by the Cambridge, Massachusetts institution on 6 February (08) during a promotional tour for her new movie The Hottie and the Nottie.

She will be picking up her award from Harvard's Hasty Pudding Club the very next day.

Ladies who have won the Women of the Year award in the past include Scarlett Johansson, Halle Berry and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Hilary Duff slams lip-syncing reports

Hillary Duff’s camp has hit out at reports that the singer/actress was caught lip-syncing during a concert stop in Mexico over the weekend.

In a video clip captured during a stop on her 2008 Dignity tour in Monterrey, Mexico, the Lizzie McGuire star is caught bending over the microphone and singing into it, but her voice can’t be heard.

However, Duff’s rep has slammed the reports, putting all the blame on faulty equipment.

"She was not lip-synching. It was faulty equipment. There was no sound coming out, but she was singing,” E! Online quoted the rep, as saying.

According to the rep, the singer was relying on local sound equipment rather than her usual equipment, and her microphone was accidentally set to mute for the first few seconds of her performance.

The Cinderella Story star does her own singing in concert, the rep insisted.

Duff’s “Dignity” tour is scheduled to continue in Mexico before moving to Brazil and Australia in the coming weeks.

Tisdale, who will reprise her role as school diva Sharpay, said that she is excited to return to East High set in Utah for one last time.

"I'm excited. But it's going to be sad. It seems like it will be graduation and I'll be crying while we're filming," she said.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year finds Troy and Gabriella on the verge of separating as they head off to different colleges. The Wildcats help the two lovebirds stage an elaborate musical, which chronicles their entire high school experience.

Apparently, the pending money matters have been settled and image issues addressed since the wait-and-see period following the record-breaking premiere of High School Musical 2 in August.

Pamela Anderson's divorce has her in high demand in US talk-show circuit

Pamela Anderson's recent divorce controversy has certainly given her popularity a much needed boost, in time for the release of her new film ‘Blonde and Blonder’.

The actress is very much in demand on the U.S. talk show circuit as many other stars have boycotted shows in solidarity with the striking Hollywood writers, leaving Anderson amongst the few celebrities willing to cross the picket lines.

This, and her split with third husband Rick Salomon, has made her to be a must-have guest on every show.

Eva Longoria under pressure to have kids

Eva Longoria says she is under pressure to become a mom, because her husband wants their kids to watch him play basketball.

The reason that San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker wants to start a family soon is because he fears he'll be too old to play professionally if he waits to have children.

"Tony wants his children to be able to see him play... and I'd like lots of little TP juniors," the Sun quoted her, as saying.

Rumors had been going around that Eva is pregnant, however the Desperate Housewives star insists that she is not expecting and that she is just "fat".

The stunning Latina wriggler has admitted to putting on weight during a break from Desperate Housewives, a break which has been brought about by the ongoing Hollywood writers strike.

"We've been on strike, so I've been home in Texas. I've gained 10 pounds just cooking and eating," she added.

Britney savors photog attention a day before crucial custody hearing

A day before her crucial child custody hearing Monday, January 14, Britney looked content and happy alongside photog beau Adnan Ghalib who squired her around as she shopped and dined around town.

The troubled pop star savored the paparazzi attention and let her picked-off-the-street boyfriend yell and push his colleagues around to clear the way for her.

It was a perfect day for photo op and the paparazzi horde tailing Britney earned more than a square meal from their efforts before it was over.

The day started with Adnan chauffeuring a braless Britney in a blue Tee and cut off jeans hot pants to Rite-Aid to pick up some prescription meds for her.

Yes, no one wants Britney off her medication!

Some aimless driving later the couple was ready to eat and pulled up at Gaucho Grill in Studio City where Britney ate some and her Tee ate some too!

A girl can't go around with a stained top, y'all! Especially if it is showing her nipples. So the next stop was Macy's where Britney picked up a rust color front open short top with frills along the neckline, sleeves and waist.

After the change as the couple headed back to their car the crowding by the photogs frayed Adnan's nerves, ironically while he was being asked how it felt to be on the other side of the lens! Tempers were lost.

The pair then sped off back to the sanctuary of Britney's home as the LAPD looked on and watched the convoy of cars disappear up the hill.

Photog Adnan Ghalib moved in with Britney Spears Friday, January 11, as the two continue to spend their days together, with Adnan chauffeuring the tail spinning popstar for her daily photo-ops while shopping and refueling.

British tabloids, quoting unnamed sources, are reporting that Britney is even contemplating marriage.

Adnan Ghalib is already married, but he is a muslim and some Islamic states do allow a muslim to have more than one wife.

To marry Adnan, Britney would not only have to flee the US to a country like Pakistan but also become a muslim!

Meanwhile, Monday, January 14, is expected to be an important day in Britney's life because LA Superior Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon will likely rule on Britney's future visitation rights with her toddlers, which were suspended January 3, following Britney's meltdown.

There are indications that the custody challenged mama will just get some respite from the Commissioner who will likely allow her very limited and brief visits - (at the most) three two-hour visits a week conducted in the presence of a court-appointed monitor.

One way Britney could restore the confidence of the Commissioner in her abilities as a mother would be through a personal appearance at the hearing Monday. However, Spears' close friends and aides fear that the singer is not emotionally stable enough for that.

The source also said that Spears "breaks down into tears and cannot complete a sentence" every time the topic of her sons surfaces, adding that the singer is "mortified by the events of last week," when the whole world saw her wheeled out into an ambulance and taken to Cedar-Sinai's psych ward.

Britney told cops 'I'm f***ing hot'

The shocking details from the night Britney Spears suffered her dramatic meltdown have been revealed, including claims that she refused to dress for police, yelling she was "too hot" for clothes.

Police sources have revealed the appalling instances that took place when they arrived at Spears' Los Angeles home in a bid to prompt the singer to hand over her child after her visitation term had ended.

According to a report in TMZ.com, Britney spent three hours locked in the master bathroom of her home with her youngest son Jayden James.

When the pop star did relinquish the kid, she was wearing nothing but panties and refused to wear nothing on but a see-through dress, according to an insider.

And when cops tried to cover her with a sweater, she screamed, "Don't cover me up. I'm f**king hot."

The source reveals that Spears was mostly rambling, screaming, "What the f**k are you doing in my house?" and "I don't need your f**king help" at the authorities.

Her moods "swung wildly from laughter to rage to sobs," the source added.

Britney's pal Sam Lutfi arrived amid the chaos and and is said to have told officers he knew the singer's latest meltdown "was coming for a long time".

He reportedly told police Britney had been "extremely unstable" and recently bought a house in Malibu on a whim, started moving furniture in and then changed her mind.

Oprah leaves her beau out of $2 billion fortune

Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has sparked rumors that she and her long-time partner Stedman Graham are headed for splitsville by leaving him out of her will.

Winfrey has been going around with Graham for 21 years, but she has excluded him from her will.

In the event of Winfrey’s death, Graham is not to get anything from her two-billion-dollar fortune.

Winfrey has instead stated that her fortune would be donated to several charities and the three daughters she plans to adopt.

"(Adoption) is something she has always wanted to do. There's no talk of her adopting the children with Stedman - this is something she's going to do by herself," a source told MSNBC's The Scoop.

'I want to stay pregnant forever,' says Halle Berry

Halle Berry is so much in love with her pregnancy that she wants to stay that way forever.

The Oscar-winning actress has revealed that she is thrilled to have the opportunity to be a mother and that the pregnancy hormones are working in her favor.

"Right now I have so much joy and energy. I can just go and go and go,” The Sun quoted Berry, as saying.

"My skin is aglow from all the hormones. I actually wear less make-up now, which is really good. I want to stay pregnant forever," she added.

The Monster's Ball, star is looking forward to a spectacular birth, as it may be her last.

"I may only do this one time, so I want the moment to be as big as it can be. I want the biggest bang I can imagine," she said.

The actress also said that she’ll pick up a name when the baby is born.

"People are always saying, 'You mean you haven't picked out a name yet? But I don't know how you name a baby until you meet it," she added.
