Britney Spears’ Dad Still in Control

After a federal judge made his ruling yesterday in the civil rights case regarding Britney Spears’ conservatorship, it was announced that Jamie Spears is still in control of her $100 million estate.

Apparently the attorney mounting the challenge against Jamie Spears didn’t have the authority or clearance to do so. U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez went so far as to rebuke Jon Eardley for claiming to represent the “Gimme More” singer.

He ruled, “Mr. Eardley fails to explain why he can bring this claim for her in the first instance. He cannot. Mr. Eardley had no authority to remove the case from state court. He is neither a party nor a defendant. While he claims to be Ms. Spears’s attorney, the probate court ... found that she was incapable of retaining her own counsel.”

As a means of retail therapy, the “Toxic” mommy went for a shopping spree at the Levi’s store in Beverly Hills, California. Brit looked indifferent as she emerged from the boutique in a flirty green top and a pair of…well… jeans.

Christina Aguilera Revels In Motherhood

Despite recently firing her staff over the reported “blundering” of the release of pictures of her newborn son, Christina Aguilera has been enjoying her first go at motherhood.

The Genie In A Bottle singer, who gave birth to son Max last month, was looking swell as “she flaunted her post-pregnancy buxom figure despite being dressed down in a Yankees baseball cap and grey cardigan.”

Aguilera happened to be taking a break from tending to her son with a dinner out and a stop at Villa with husband Jordan Bratman.

Meanwhile, during a recent radio interview, the 27-year old said that she and her hubby are “reveling in parenthood.”

“Every week something new happens,” Christina tells, adding, “It’s constant changing and he’s constantly changing and doing these incredibly cute things - and stinky things.”

Brooke Hogan Loves Attention

While cold weather plagued the north and Hollywood’s finest prepped for the Oscars out west, Brooke Hogan was busy soaking up the rays on sunny Miami Beach.

Miss Hogan, who donned a teeny blue bikini, frolicked about the beach as she jumped up and down in an apparent call for attention.

As for her acting career, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! towards the end of January, Brooke and her wrestling pops confirmed that their show, Hogan Knows Best, would be back, and that Brooke would be headlining when it returns.

“I’m a little bit afraid,” said Brooke. “Brooke’s been doing great,” Hulk Hogan interjected. “She’s been working really hard.”

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis: Red Carpet Royalty

This guy sweats sex appeal! And Johnny Depp isn’t afraid to let all the ladies that are falling all over him know that he’s a one woman man.

At the 2008 Academy Awards, the “Pirates of the Carribbean” stud arrived on the red carpet arm-in-arm with his longtime sweetie Vanessa Paradis.

And the French actress looked every bit the suitable arm candy for such a renowned and respected actor. She wore a glamorous, plunging neckline black dress, with just enough skin to keep her man’s eyes on her and her alone.

Meanwhile, the “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” actor kept it simple with a black tuxedo, spectacles, and his usual coy smile.

Penelope Cruz’s Red Carpet Style

The only thing as fierce as the competition inside the Kodak Theatre is the battle for shutterbug attention outside. And it looks like Penelope Cruz took the proper measure to insure success.

The “Volver” actress rolled out of her limo with a big smile and immediately all eyes were on her.
Cruz was rocking a killer ensemble, including a black gown with feathered trimmings. And from the looks of it, every penny her stylist charged was worth it.

But the red carpet is only half the battle. Once inside, we’ll see who the real winners are. Stay tuned to the Mag55 for all the Academy Awards results after the show!

Oscar Time For Jennifer Garner

What do you get when you put the most beautiful people in Hollywood together with the most prestigious awards show in cinema? A paparazzi dream come true.

And there were plenty of clamoring photogs trying to edge their way into position this evening when the lovely Jennifer Garner arrived at the Kodak Theatre for the 2008 Academy Awards.

The “Juno” actress brought her fashion A-game in a fabulous black gown accessorized with jewelry to die for - that was no doubt hand-picked by her highly-paid stylist.

But in the end, it’s all worth it. After all, this Oscars shindig only happens once a year, but getting labeled “worst dressed” can last a lifetime.

Jessica Alba Shines On Oscar Red Carpet

After days of rehearsals and months of planning the Academy Awards are finally here. And it wouldn’t be a proper Oscar shindig without some fabulous red carpet royalty showing off for the shutterbugs.

A growingly pregnant Jessica Alba began her journey from the arrival area into the Kodak Theatre wearing a sexy, sassy violet gown with frills, turning heads wherever she went.

Accompanied by fiance Cash Warren, Jess spoke to Ryan Seacrest for awhile after chatting it up with gal pal Cameron Diaz.

Part of the fun of Oscar night is seeing how the stars choose to express themselves with their glamorous ensembles, and Miss Alba definitely scored an A+!

With so much talent in one location, it’s no wonder Hollywood’s elite pull out all the stops to outshine each other on this glitzy evening.

It’s finally here… the biggest night of the year for the movie industry. And Oscar night is most certainly not leaving anything to be desired.

As the red carpet arrivals got underway, Heidi Klum made a grand entrance wearing a stunning red silk gown and her hair in an updo.

With this kind of paparazzi attention, you gotta wonder how Miss Klum can see past the flashbulbs and make her way to the entrance.

2008 Spirit Awards Red Carpet Fashion

Acting as a worthy preamble to tomorrow night’s Academy Awards, the 2008 Film Independent’s Spirit Awards got underway at Santa Monica Beach on Saturday (February 23).

As previously reported by Mag55, Angelina Jolie stole the spotlight - with her baby bump on full display. But there was plenty more star power to hit the red carpet worth mentioning.

Cate Blanchett joined Jolie in the baby-on-the-way club, showing off her full figure as she offered up a smile for the cameras. Shortly thereafter, Eva Mendes hit the red carpet, fresh out of a rehab stint at the Cirque Lodge treatment facility.

Also making appearances were stars like Sienna Miller and Ellen Page - both hoping to take home a little hardware, as well as Lisa Kudrow, Marisa Tomei and many more.
